5 ››A wood pavilion is a rectangular outdoor structure with 4 or more wooden posts and a roof. The roof of a pavilion is similar to the roof on the average home – it protects patio furniture from the rain and harsh sun rays. The sides of pavilions are totally open, and they come without a built-in floor. Due to differences in homeowner preferences and style, wood pavilions come in a variety of sizes and configurations.
During outdoor events and gatherings, a pavilion provides a shady area for people to lounge or socialize. On a summer day, they provide a relaxing area to read a book or soak in a hot tub. Some use their pavilions as an outdoor dining area or as a home for their barbecue grill and accessories. You can also hang lights or vegetation on the pavilion’s posts when decorating. Talk about versatility!
